I grew up with a mother figure who has spent the last twenty-five years as morbidly obese. My mother, who knows no boundaries in anything, cares about the concept of body and can do nothing about it, underwent a stomach reduction surgery in 2018 to get rid of the weight that was too much for her and her health. After the surgery, she dropped from 147 kilos to 75 kilos as a result of routine controls and progress. She found herself in a new body experience with her ideal weight that she had dreamed of for years. The weight she lost was replaced by a hollow and sagging skin. In this process of change, a single operation was not the solution. By performing aesthetic skin removal surgeries at regular intervals, excess skin on the arms, breasts and abdomen was also removed. After a long process of pursuing the ideal, my mother got the body she wanted. In this project, I tried to reflect the change in her lifestyle after her experiences, her way of being herself and the importance she attaches to her beauty. The fact that all of the photographs were taken indoors represents the inclusion of the intimate, that is, the layered structure of privacy.
